Wide Plank Black Walnut floor in kitchen with antique Heart Pine beams by Oak & Broad

We recently completed an interesting project involving a Black Walnut floor and stairs complimented by heart pine beams. It was a new construction project and we were able to snap some pictures just as the client was getting ready to move into her new home.

The character grade Black Walnut floors are a nice 8″ width and were site finished. The 6′-10′ board lengths give a sense of grandeur to the home.

Oak & Broad provided solid reclaimed Heart Pine beams for the home’s ceiling. They begin in the kitchen and run into the living room, stopping by the fire place.

All true Heart Pine is antique. These particular re-claimed beams are 150 years old!

Aside from providing a beautiful rustic touch to the home, we love that our client chose to use beams are 100% solid—unlike the hollow “box beams” that go into many homes. It’s these kinds of details that make a project exceptional.

We also provided Black Walnut stairs between the home’s three floors. Even before being furnished, the home felt warm and welcoming.

Congratulations to our client on her new home. We enjoyed this unique project immensely.
